2956 – 4 19th century water glasses – Legras establishments From the Art Nouveau period, this exceptional set of 4 ½ crystal water glasses listed and named “Tulip glass” in the 1899 catalog, plate 32, of Verreries & Cristalleries de Saint Denis & de Pantin (Quatre Chemins) united, whose director at the age of 27 is the master glassmaker François Théodore Legras (see photo). Hand-cut parison of 12 flat rounded ribs, baluster-shaped leg topped with a flat button and smooth round foot. Polished pontil trace. Presence of fine air bubbles attesting that these glasses have been mouth blown. Small, crystalline sound. Beautiful shine and no scale. Height 153mm x 80mm. Weight 1500 g.
