Description
Rare ! Service of 10 small flat plates plus a large one in stoneware from the 70s. Beautiful scandinavian design lines which is unusual for this type of stoneware plates which are often quite "country" they were made by the potterie de l'etang in durtal (near angers) by robert deblander (1922 - 2008) who is a french ceramist, one of the chief pioneers of the post-war stoneware renaissance and a figure in contemporary ceramics. Graduated from the paris school of decorative arts in 1944, robert deblander turned to ceramics by completing several internships with potters. The 10 plates can be used as main plates and the largest as a main dish because they measure 23 X 20 cm. The large one is 28 X 25cm. Note: 2 plates are chipped on the back but cannot be seen on the surface (see last photo). Careful shipping.
