Armchair the chair of vitra by charles and ray eames. Charles and ray eames created the chair in 1948 as part of a competition at the museum of modern art in new york. This seat is inspired by the sculpture "floating figure" by the sculptor gaston lachaise. A true sculpture that invests space, the seat is distinguished by a surprising elegance and allows multiple sitting and lying positions. The chair has long become an icon of organic design. Characteristics. Materials: shell in polyurethane lacquered in white, base in chromed steel tube, crosspiece of base in solid natural oak, varnish natural wood effect. There is no assembly to do, the product is already assembled. There are some defects (scratches) knowing that it was more of an exhibition piece in our living room. We provide the certificate of authenticity from vitra. Dimensions. H 87 X W. 150 X D. 90 cm (seat height 49 cm).
