Raak amsterdam: founded in 1954 in amsterdam, raak is an emblematic company of dutch design specializing in the creation of lighting fixtures (lamps, wall lights, suspensions, chandeliers, etc.). Raak has established itself as a reference in 20th century lighting design, particularly during the 1950s to 1970s, a period of creative effervescence in europe. Raak lights are characterized by their minimalism and the use of materials such as glass, metal, and sometimes innovative elements such as plastic or brushed aluminum. These often sculptural creations are part of a functional design typical of dutch modernism, while integrating an artistic and poetic dimension. Raak collaborated with renowned designers, including the famous architect and designer frank ligtelijn, creator of the iconic “globe 2000” lamp. Today, raak lighting fixtures are prized by collectors for their craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics. The company’s legacy remains a testament to the central role of the netherlands in modernist design, with pieces that continue to illuminate contemporary interiors.
