Biot water service

Very beautiful biot water service dating from the 1940s composed of a large carafe and 10 colored glasses. Entirely mouth-blown. Very good condition. It was in 1956 that the verrerie de biot was founded in biot, on the côte d'azur. It invented the famous bubble glass, known today as biot glass. The company developed the technique and designed the machine that allows the sodium bicarbonate powder to be harmoniously distributed on the post, that is to say on a ball of hot glass being shaped. Bubbles were until then considered a defect of poorly refined glass, but the "verrerie de biot" transformed them into a decoration process by voluntarily creating gaseous bubbles in the mass of glass.
