Description
"tapestry wall hanging "falcon hunting". 20th century" Tapestry in the medieval style "falcon hunting". Reproduction by artis flora, private collection n°9/82, produced around 1950. The original is exhibited at the Cluny Museum in Paris, 16th century. Wool tapestry with printed decoration, lined with burlap with wall fixings on the back (in wrought iron) along the entire length. This tapestry represents the beginning of a falcon hunt, a noble activity par excellence because it requires not only means but also a certain skill, it is also an opportunity to display elegance. The hunters represented correspond to this logic, since they control their animals themselves, in beautiful crew. The attention to detail of the costumes, harnesses and physiognomies marks a beautiful production. The background evokes the atmospheric perspectives of Flemish paintings, and the clothing places the work around 1500. Dimensions: 307x103 cm. Condition: good.
