Hand-knotted Persian wool carpet
Description
Hand-knotted wool carpets in india in the vicinity of varanasi, a mecca of the carpet industry, whose birth dates back to the 16th century. Historians believe that weavers from iran settled there at that time and then established their workshops there. These hand-knotted carpets are traditionally considered the highest quality of carpet among all other types of carpets. They are very robust, much more than the tuffeté carpets that are often found in our usual stores. Knotted carpets do not have latex on the back, unlike tuffeté carpets. Our carpets require a long manufacturing time, which is proportional to the number of knots per square centimeter. They have a good longevity, and if they are well maintained, they can even be passed on to future generations. The wool used is of superior quality (new zealand wool).
