Iconic executive desk from the “200 series” designed by Arne Vodder and produced by Sibast Furniture in Denmark in the 1960’s. Arne Vodder, one of the best designers Denmark has known, shows his skills on this piece: the solid oval-shaped wooden legs flow smoothly into the top, that has been upholstered with a writing surface in quality leather. From the dovetail joinery over the beautiful grain in the wood up to the fine metal drawer handles: everyting on this desk is meticulously detailed. The clean, minimalistic lines and grand size give this piece an aura of importance while the splendid grain and warm color of the rosewood make you feel welcome. This combination made it irresistable for executives back in the sixties and for any design collector up to today. The 4 drawers open and close smoothly, the original locks are there but the keys to both are missing. Aside from this and some rubbing marks on the edges of the leather top, it’s in very good condition. This and the original Sibast label inside the drawers, make it more than a rare collector’s item.
