Description
Lamp bronze vase napoleon III of the mid-nineteenth century by cahieux & barbedienne. Beautiful french vase in gilded and patinated bronze, the baluster stem with a relief decoration of swallows and vegetation. The two names of artists are signed, henry cahieux (1825-1854) and ferdinand barbedienne (fondeur 1810-1892). Cahieux and barbedienne, one of the most important metallurgists of the nineteenth century. The elegant handles are made of gilded bronze. The vase rests on a red marble base "griotte" with gilded bronze claw feet. Made in france during the napoleon III period, 1860-1870. Engraved underneath in marble: 1880. The marble presents a repair on a corner (see photos).
