Description
Japanese sake barrel in calligraphed porcelain with mount fuji decoration – old japanese craftsmanship – taru – dario – japan – shōwa period japanese sake barrel from the early 20th century, traditional sake barrel in white porcelain, antique, rare and authentic, with blue kanji calligraphed, decorated with mount fuji, old cedars, hand-painted stork/heron. Bears a signature/stamp on the underside. Dimensions; h 33 for 27 cm in diameter. Taru or dario, this old porcelain barrel, bears no. 540 on the top, the name of the distillery, the quality of the sake, the name and address of the distributor are calligraphed in kanji characters. At the very bottom is the location of the (missing) wooden faucet decorated with a kiku chrysanthemum flower. The porcelain is decorated with two circles of ropes. 2 holes with holes are present on the top to slide in a transport rope. The neckline is wide and short. Antique japanese porcelain in perfect condition, showing some signs of normal use...
