Description
Beautifully played keyaki wood go game board, complete with 碁石入れ (goseki-ire) for storing the white and black stones. The wooden boxes with lids contain 181 black stones and 180 white stones. The keyaki wood game board dates back to the 1920s-1930s and has a charmingly well-played and weathered appearance. The solid wood block is finished with elegantly crafted legs. Keyaki is a rare and highly sought-after wood species from japan, seldom exported. This set holds significant decorative value and can, of course, still be used for play, providing the ideal opportunity to experience a japanese tradition in an authentic way. Dimensions: height 23 cm, width 44 cm, depth 40.5 cm.
