Allan albion erwö (born april 13, 1921 in stockholm, died july 25, 2007 in stockholm) - swedish painter. Allan erwö's debut on the art scene took place at the age of 21, when he was accepted into the autumn exhibition skånes konstförening in malmö in 1942. From 1947 to 1948, erwö was a student at the skåne school of painting, where he studied with tage hansson and then with kræsten iversen at the royal danish academy of fine arts in copenhagen from 1950 to 1952. Then he went on study trips to paris, southern france and spain. The first solo exhibition took place at krognoshuset, konstföreningen aura, in lund in 1949. Erwö was involved in kro – konstnärernas riksorganisation, in skånska konstnärsklubben and in the now defunct skys gallery on stortorget in malmö. He was also involved in the construction phase of the artists' collective workshop in malmö, where he became president of the foundation in 1971. The first scholarship, the ellen trotzig scholarship, was awarded to erwö in 1954, and has subsequently received many different artistic scholarships over the years. In addition to being privately owned, his work can also be seen in the collections of many museums, including helsingborg museums public art agency sweden. Art and style. Allan erwö's work was initially characterized by stylized landscape painting alongside studied forms of figurative studies and still lifes. An artistry that has gradually moved into a more abstract idiom since the 1950s, often creating abstractions, arising from shadows and reflections in a room.
