Mid-century modern swedish "The royal guard" vintage figurative watercolor & gouache painting

A small yet impactful watercolour and gouache figurative composition of an upright figure of a royal guard, depicted in a side profile view. The subject is dressed traditionally in a red uniform and a bearskin hat. The uniform’s details are simplified, yet recognisable. The artist has used flat brushstrokes, and has uniquely outlined the figure’s silhouette in thin blue outlines. Apart from the turquoise platform that the figure has been standing on, the background of the painting has been intentionally left out, enhancing our focus on the subject. This watercolour and gouache on paper has been well framed in a light grey wood frame with cream mount, and is housed behind glass. Please note there is some reflection present on the photos due to the glass. There is some age toning to the paper and the mount, and there are two tiny pinholes to the left of the figure, probably from previous mounting. The corners of the frame have widened slightly but the frame is stable, and there is some minor scuffing to the frame. Size: 63 X 29 cm (including frame).
