Pair of black armchairs Charles & Ray Eames EA116 Aluminium Group Herman Miller edition

Pair of iconic armchairs by charles & ray eames. Model ea116, edited by herman miller (usa) and distributed by mobilier international. Swivel and with armrests. This range is called "aluminium group" because the uprights are made of hyper-resistant aluminum. They were designed in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in columbus. The fabric panel - here black - is stretched and thus a firm but flexible seat is obtained. The seat adapts to the contours of the body and is extremely comfortable. The ones I sell are with a 4-spoke base, typical of herman miller models (not to be confused with vitra reissues since the 80s) This pair dates from the 60s or 70s. In very good condition, they rotate perfectly. And the feet are in perfect condition; they have the "glide silence" that avoids noise and scratches the floor. Overall, I will say that the wear is normal for their age (over 60 years!) and the fabric is clean. The advantage of black is that it goes everywhere. They have their original markings (with the same number since it is an authentic pair), + herman miller labels on one (the other has fallen) and mobilier international on the 2. I sell them all 2 for 1600 euros, or 800 pieces (they are found on average at 750-900 euros depending on condition, color, material and edition).
