When, in the early 1960s, the english gimson & slater was looking for a connection with the market for modern furniture, they decided, according to tradition, to look in scandinavia for usable designs and to look for parties that could help with the design of ultra-modern furniture for that time. According to various sources, the basis for this unique armchair was created in norway, which will later be included in the delivery program under the name "rock 'n rest chair". This copy has recently been completely rebuilt in-house. And of course it can be neatly adjusted to various positions. The upholstery including cushions was completely renewed in 2025 and looks more beautiful and richer than it ever was. The very best foam, the most beautiful fabric and the best upholstery have turned this armchair into a true art object. The following substance was used: the fabric is keymer richwool color number 47. Richwool is an environmentally friendly furniture fabric. The combination of pure new wool and alpaca wool provides a rich appearance and unprecedented softness. This design classic, which can easily withstand any comparison with a modern armchair, can of course also be delivered.
