Old Oak Wall Shelf with Towel Holder

Old oak wall shelf with towel holder period: ca. 19th century or earlier an antique wall shelf with two shelves and a rod (removable) for hanging towels. The sides have carved profiles. The overall look is rustic and it would be a useful piece in a bathroom or kitchen of a country house or farmhouse. The construction technique is also rustic and probably quite old; mortise, tenon and dowels were used. On the back panel, traces of tool marks that have not been sanded can clearly be seen; this is not a modern industrial piece of wood. Oak wood has a beautiful warm patina that can only come with age. There are two sturdy metal hooks on the back. Condition: good, sturdy. Signs of use consistent with age. One of the shelves has a wood knot hole. Some old inactive glass holes. Collar drop stains or varnish on the background. See photos for details. Dimensions: 62 cm high, 58.5 cm wide at the top, 16 cm deep at the top, 8 kg.
