The North American at-6 "Texan" are certainly the most well-known aircraft of the entire Algerian war and they were by far the most numerous to be used. But initially, the at-6 or t-6 "Texan" was just an advanced training aircraft intended for the fighter pilot, which explains its yellow color. This recognizable colour was chosen to avoid collisions, making the devices more visible. Some of the devices delivered later flew with a natural metal livery. Originally the North American at-6 Texan was a standard advanced training aircraft for fighter pilots, just before and during World War II. Both in the USA and in Great Britain where they will be designated harvard. The at-6 was a commercial success: it was produced in 15,495 copies, all versions combined.
