Bruno Saetti (Bologna, November 21, 1902 – Bologna, July 10, 1984) - In 1928, he was admitted to the Venice Biennale with the Paris Judgment, in which he then participated for 14 editions (he participated in the exhibition in 1938 with a personal room and received awards in the 1950s). In 1929, he won, with Bagnanti, the Baruzzi Prize and exhibited at the Barcelona International Exhibition which established him on the artistic scene. In 1931, he participated for the first time in the Rome Quadrennial and continued his participation until 1972. He also ventured into the field of graphics (drawings, engravings, lithographs), glass decorations and mosaics. He was also a painter of sacred art and participated in numerous exhibitions on this theme. After his death, the Strozzi Palace in Florence organized a major anthology. His works appear in the main Italian museums (including the Museo Novecento in Florence and the Mambo in Bologna) and abroad (Amsterdam, Madrid, Warsaw, Zagreb, Zurich, Tokyo) and are the subject of important exhibitions: the anthologies, organized in 1974. And 1981 at the gallery of modern art in Bologna (dedicated to graphic production) and the exhibition of large mosaic works in prato, painter of sensual female nudes, maternity and landscapes, but also symbolic figures like angels, saetti rejects the languages of the avant-garde, moving towards an expressionist realism, supported by severe compositional rigor.
