Loom furniture with drawers

Old gujarat craft furniture in solid teak, with multiple drawers. This apothecary cabinet has exactly 44 drawers. Each is marked with an inscription in gujarati. This piece of furniture probably belonged to a small local grocery store or pharmacist in the western indian state of gujarat. On some drawers, one can read for example sindoor (the red powder that indian married women use to mark their foreheads). Dented handles, probably brass. Rare piece, 20th century.
