Octave Larrieu vase

Octave larrieu (1912-1996) large baluster vase in beige cracked enameled ceramic with brown bird decoration signed h: 48 cm octave larrieu, soldier and sculptor of monuments, notably the maubourguet war memorial, is also a talented ceramist. From 1930, he collaborated with his daughter simone larrieu in their ceramic workshop in maubourguet. They worked with stoneware and earthenware, the painted or relief decorations of which were made from simone larrieu's drawings. Painter, pastellist and member of the la palette association, simone was also a ceramic decorator, providing most of the decorations for the family workshop.
