Description
The design consists of a silver plated base with a faceted crystal column. The silver has an attractive patina that contrasts with the clear reflective surfaces of the crystal. The composition consists of a palm tree in silver-plated metal and cut crystal placed on a silver-plated tripartite base representing lion paws. On the top of the feet is a decoration of acanthus leaves. An exquisite cut crystal cylinder in the “hardwicke” pattern becomes the trunk of the palm tree. At the top a silver metal laurel decoration leads to the crown and leaves. Next there is a new lamp holder covered with a new cream card candle tube. The lamp is finished with a vintage gray silk clip-on shade of later date. It features gray fabric trim and metallic gold lining. The lamp carries 1 small standard screw bulb (e14) up to 40 watts. Currently equipped and photographed with 25 watt clear candle bulbs, included in the price. This old lamp is in very good condition for its age. The frame is sound, with no damage or broken parts. The metal surfaces are in overall good condition with the original antique patina preserved, adding character and depth. There are superficial marks and patina in places. The crystal part is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. The shade is in good condition with no cuts or dents and only minor light marks (rubbing) on the exterior.
