Old painting, Marine, signed Marie (1880-1977)

Rare and magnificent watercolor, on paper in a wooden frame, gilded, carved, glazed. The watercolor represents, in a mediterranean landscape, fishermen aboard their fishing boats, busy preparing, going fishing. They are currently at the quays and in front of them, are the typical provençal houses with yellow facades, decorated with balconies and flowers. The colors are very vivid and beautiful and we notice that the artist first made a preparatory drawing before moving on to watercolor. It is signed lower right, marie piat, born in 1880 and died in 1977. She is a famous painter of the french school, specialized in landscapes, still lifes and watercolors. Condition: the work is in very good condition, except for two very small brown spots at the bottom left and one at the bottom right which blend into the sea. The frame is made of gilded wood and has been re-gilded later and it has some small lacks of material, especially on the rear edges, which does not affect the presentation of this painting.
