Coffee table by designer Jean Maurice Rothschild (1902-1998), known for designing the Eiffel Tower restaurant and the furniture of the liner Le Normandie. Hand-hammered wrought iron, gargoyle dolphin heads made of composite wood, and green marble. All in excellent condition. Rare model, the version with the grotesque Dutch characters being more common. 80 cm by 68 cm. Attributed to distinguished french interior and furniture designer Jean Maurice Rothschild, known by his works on the Eiffel Tower restaurant and the cruise liner Le Normandie. Medieval - Neoclassical revival. Hand hammered metal, green marble top, composite resin dolphins gargoyles. Circa 1950. Rare and original piece. I've never seen this particular piece anywhere else. Width: 80.0 cm Height: 53.0 cm Depth: 80.0 cm Other: Width:- 80cm at the feet, top 70cm wide.
