Art deco boomerang desk, circa 1940
Description
Exceptional modernist office of the art deco period. This superb piece of furniture is reminiscent of the desk made by charlotte perriand and pierre janneret with its curved top and the wood used since it is ash, like the one made by the two designers. Our desk in solid ash and veneer consists of a tray resting on two rounded boxes at the back, the front being composed of two large drawers for one and three drawers and a sliding tray for the other. Each box rests on a skirting board slightly recessed forming a foot. The handles and key passages are made of chromed metal, the locks are from fichet, famous french locksmith specializing in the manufacture of safes. The piece is finished with a very beautiful french polish. France circa 1940.
