French Sideboard in Solid Blond Oak, Late 19th Century

This sideboard opens with three doors and two drawers. The drawers can be used to store cutlery sets. They are mounted in a dovetail, ensuring perfect solidity. This is how they can be opened daily and contain many objects. They slide perfectly. Once opened, the doors reveal a shelf. This country-style sideboard is sturdy. It comes from the kitchens of a castle located near the Loire. The kitchens located on the first floor of the basements, in the vaulted rooms of the castle were equipped with functional, robust, rigid and sober furniture. This oak piece of furniture on which the staff placed all kinds of utensils and dishes should not have been vulnerable, moreover traces appear on the top, a symbol of the passing of time and the authenticity of this piece of furniture. The handles, entrances and keys are made of metal. The drawer handles are thick and robust with a grip adapted to the function reserved for them.
