Oval fruit basket, delft / delfleur earthenware, hand painted, made in holland. Dimensions: 12.5 cm width X 5 cm height X 19 cm depth. Delft earthenware acquired its notoriety thanks to the finesse of the pieces, the quality of their enamelling, and the finesse of their painted decorations. The white tin enamel used allowed dutch earthenware makers to approach the appearance of chinese porcelain, widely distributed in the country thanks to the dutch east india company.
