Lafuma folding chairs from the 70s

Nice pair of lafuma folding chairs, aesthetic and practical at the same time: rather comfortable and once folded, they take up minimal space. The “lafuma made in france” label is present on one of the two chairs. They must date from the end of the 60s or beginning of the 70s because the label no longer mentions "sgdg patented", so they date from after 1968. The structure is in gilded bronze tubular metal, the seat and the backrest are padded and covered with (original) striped fabric in light and dark mustard color. They are in good structural condition, solid and stable, but do not hide their fifty years! The metal has various small marks (scratches, abrasions, etc.) and superficial corrosion mainly localized on the footrest bar because the gold lacquer is absent and therefore no longer protects the metal. This does not call into question the solidity of these chairs for the moment, but you will either have to not leave it in the humidity for too long or protect the metal (lacquer, anti-rust) if you want a long life for these chairs...the fabric has stains, not excessively visible, and a small tear on one seat. Another advantage of these chairs is that it is quite easy to reupholster the seat and back. Under the seats, a remains of a label which mentioned the name of the previous owner. Unfolded, these chairs measure 80 cm in height at the backrest, the floor space is 46 cm wide and 41 cm deep. The seat is approximately 46 cm high. When folded, they measure 5 or 6 cm thick, 96 cm long and 46 cm wide. They weigh approximately 4 kg each.
