Period: art deco circa: 1920 - 1925 style: louis XVI dimensions: height: 142cm X width: 100cm X depth: 50cm mirror dimensions: height: 63cm X width: 47cm the origin of dressing tables dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, but the bathroom furniture that inspired this very feminine model already existed a few centuries ago. Indeed, in the 17th century, we began to use the term “toilet” to designate women’s beauty corner. A piece of furniture made up of a mirror on an easel and a table on which they place all their toiletries, such as jewelry, bottles, combs, and other beauty products used on a daily basis. Furniture even existed in antiquity, since we find traces of it on the frescoes of the villa of the mysteries in pompeii. It is also called a dressing table. This practical and functional piece of furniture often takes the form of a desk. A seat, in the form of a stool, allows you to sit there in order to prepare yourself.
