Mid century cocoon table lamp by Friedel Wauer for Goldkant, Germany 1960s

Mid century cocoon lamp. Designed by friedel wauer for goldkant leuchten. The shade was made by a spray fiberglass process where an elastic fiberglass like material is sprayed on a metal frame. Due to the flexibility of the material it was possible to make amazing shapes and designs. This lamp was produced in the early 60s and gained an amazing colour and patina through the years. The condition is very good. No damage. The same process was used by achilles castiglioni to make some iconic designs for italian company flos.
