For sale magnificent "bocage" mirror made by mithé espelt (born in 1923 in lunel, in the south of france) around the 1970s. An emblematic piece of his talent for earthenware, it presents: • a relief decoration: four pink birds facing each other, surrounded by white flowers, leaves and green enameled pastilles, on a black background. • a cracked gold border: bringing an additional charm, typical of mithé espelt's creations, between craftsmanship and refinement. • a back protected by green felt, with a hanging ring. The color palette (pink, green, white, gold) gives it a poetic and folkloric aspect, while remaining resolutely artistic. The cracked gilding finishes and the embossed earthenware composition highlight the unique character of the work. Dimensions: • height: 27.5 cm • width: 22.5 cm • depth: 1.5 cm condition: • three small visible tears/restorations: two at the bottom left and one at the top (see photos). • the mirror is otherwise in very good general condition, the glaze is shiny and well preserved, ready to be displayed. This object will be perfect for collectors of art pieces, vintage earthenware enthusiasts and anyone looking for a "bohemian chic" touch in their decoration.
