Temple and sadhu, Rajasthan

Lonely sadhu at the edge of a temple, rajasthan. During his career as a photographer, mr. Sharma, the author of this photograph, has tackled all subjects: animals, wild or domestic, bollywood starlets, architecture, religion. What I like most of all are his photographs taken in rajasthan and jaipur in the 1950s and 1960s where we see an india still vaguely familiar and yet already outdated. He opened his archives to allow us to select a series of photographs. 30 X 40 cm pigment print made in our parisian workshop by our master shooter on paper 260g archival ultrasmooth. Limited edition of 36 prints titled and numbered in the pencil margin.
