Description
A beautiful pair of original 'canada' armchairs designed by christian e. hansen and manufactured at 'fritz hansen', copenhagen in 1940. The chairs are made of stained beech and are in stunning original condition. In the late 1930s, fritz's forward-thinking son christian began experimenting with steam bending techniques. During this decade, the technique was refined to make fritz hansen a world leader in moulded and laminated wood furniture. Inspired by german functionalism, scandinavian design came into its own with a lighter, more practical approach that emphasised clean lines and function. Seat height 37cm
