Very beautiful oil on wooden panel, of a nun or beguine. Signed perrodin 1885 lower left. Auguste perrodin was born in 1883 in ain and died in 1887 in puy de dome. His work is primarily religious and even historical; he was noticed by viollet le duc and thus executed a large fresco for the notre dame cathedral in paris (scenes from the life of the virgin). Throughout his career, auguste perrodin worked with equal success in all media, from wall painting, fresco painting, to glass painting and easel painting. It is active throughout france. For this oil, we must highlight the attention to detail: the hands encircling a missal, the cross at the end of her rosary and ultimately the tender smile of this nun wearing a cornette with cream reflections. In good used condition, there is a lack of paint at the top right, and some small superficial chips. Height: 42 cm width: 33 cm thickness: 1.5 cm weight: 0.7 kg fast and careful shipping.
