Dutch Modernist Pilastro Servo Muto coat rack by Tjerk Reijenga, The Netherlands 1953

Beautiful dutch modernist coat rack, which is almost a sculpture in itself. This type of coat rack, called toonladder, was originally designed by coen de vries in 1953 for a model home from goed wonen. This first version had hooks made of curved plasticized electrical wire. Tjerk reijenga released the coat rack in a new form in 1955 under the name servo muto with a square frame. This coat rack made of black lacquered metal has a hat shelf, three large hooks and 5 colored hooks in white, black, yellow and red.
