OMEGA Bakelite Fan by Hans Merz - East Germany

Adorable little fan OMEGA Type 7020 4/3. A must-have of the futuristic design of the 1950s with its quality black Bakelite boomerang foot and white resistant plastic hooped propeller. It can be steered with its aluminum swivel kneecap and can be mounted as a wall applique (orifices provided under the base). Silent, 3-speed (2 modular switches), 220 Volts, 25 Watts. Designed in 1959 by Hans Merz (1921-1987) for the publisher VEB Elektrow-rme (National Electric Heating Company in East Germany). This model was used in particular to ventilate the locomotives of trains in the GDR, such as the Gorlitz SVT, the fastest of its time in 1964 (see photos).
