Designer ceramic vase LIVIA GORKA 1950s/60s
Description
Born in 1925 in hungary, and daughter of an already recognized ceramist (geza gorka), livia gorka, after working alongside her father, charted her own path from 1959... She drew her inspiration from the nature, and his works are marked by it, often asymmetrical, organic, all curves and freedom...: each piece is unique, shaped by hand, even if the artist likes "series"... This little vase bears witness to this, produced around 1960, and seeming to "dance" its own life, under its matte enamel with strong relief, in forest tones... Signed under the base gl hungary in black on yellow enamel. Excellent general condition; a slight chip on the collar to report (see photos). Height 17.5 cm.; diameter 8.6 cm weight 681 grams.
