Description
Amanta armchair by Mario Bellini for C&B Italia, 1960s. The Amanta model was the first piece designated by Mario Bellini for the beginnings of the Italian firm, he was inspired by the Barcelona armchair by Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe in order to produce one of the very first modular sofa. This series is no longer produced to this day, however there is a second version having seen the light of day in 1975 which differs in some structural points such as the removal of the rear slit, the removal of the buttons or the addition of a cushion additional on the seat but the innovation was brought by the addition of an armrest module. The fireside chair is cubic in shape. The frame is made from a single piece of reinforced polyester with a slot in the middle of the backrest reinforcing the strength of the structure. It is made up of 3 cushions independent of the structure with three covered buttons on the back and three on the seat tightening the covering. In addition, the armchair does not have a base. We also find the C&B Italia logo molded under the structure. In very good condition, completely reupholstered in our workshop.
