3583 – art deco vase – pierre d'avesn from the art deco period, in thick ribbed glass, this vase signed “pierre d'avesn made in france” in good condition. No cracks, with very small chips on the edge of the foot. Very stable due to its weight. Height 177 mm X 132 mm. Weight 2270 g. Careful and tracked shipping. For information, whose real name is pierre girre, pierre d'avesn (1901-1990) is an original sculptor. He studied at the école des arts décoratifs in paris. At the age of 14, he joined lalique (rené) and stayed there for around ten years before setting up his own business and then, in the 1930s, went to daum to develop the production of press-molded glass. All the hand-made pieces are signed “lorrain” while those coming off the presses are signed “p. D'avesn”. In 1937, he joined verlys at the verrerie des andelys. After 1945, he was at the cristallerie de choisy le roi reissuing old and new models under the brand name "sèvres". All the molds were sold in 1952 to the cristallerie de vannes le châtel where he remained until his retirement in 1984.
