White carpet with multicolored Berber patterns handmade in pure wool
Description
Condition: new never used. Material: natural wool. The margoum carpet is also special in that it is made according to the traditions of the oldest with regard to its weaving methods: the bottom of the margoum is woven as on a kilim, and the patterns are embroidered with the help of knots, as on a classic carpet, but upside down. The margoum therefore has no hairs but a smooth appearance with reliefs. On its back side, the wool back threads testify to the artisanal authenticity of this handmade carpet. The margoum is based on the drawing of the diamonds in arabic "regma", the word "mergoum" comes from here. However, margoum is at the origin of the berbers, and the diamonds symbolize fertility. There are three main types of patterns: a large number of small diamonds, medium diamonds or large central diamonds. Our handmade carpets are all controlled by the quality department of the national craft office. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each piece.
