Beautiful old Art Nouveau fan in painted silk and bone strands 1890-1900

This lovely antique fan is made of bone and silk cream soulor. It is decorated with a delicate decoration of hand-painted bamboo and insects. The strands and plume are made of painted bone. It measures 29 cm X 51 cm wingspan. It shows traces of use (wear, loose strands, gaps and fragilities of the fabric) and the decoration is partially preserved. It was reinforced from the back with tissue paper and water glue. It does not close. A superb testimony of the fashion accessories of the time... The women of yesteryear minauded with their pretty fan in front of their faces: concealing - revealing in an elegant game of seduction.
