Old apothecary mortar in bronze vita / mors decors and writings. Solid bronze mortar, with handles on each side and a decoration representative of vita (life) and mors (death), 18th century. Book decoration which represents the sharing of knowledge, knowledge to represent life in a very significant movement at that time. Skull decor to represent the dark side of death. Rich decorations, clothing sculpted on the contour of the mortar. Dimensions: height: 8.2 cm top diameter: 8.5 cm base diameter: 6.5 cm there is no pestle, the mortar is alone as presented in the photos.
