Charles & Ray Eames - Herman Miller - armchair (2) - ea 116. 1960 - 1969. Materials - aluminum, brown leather. Old edition, in the same collector's house since the 1960s. The ea 116 is a beautiful armchair with excellent seating comfort. The chair is in good condition with no cracks or breaks. The polished chrome is in very good condition on the armrests and weathered on the rest. The leather is in very good condition for the seat and slightly damaged on the exterior at the top. Overall the chair is in good condition. It is rare to be able to acquire two armchairs of the same color, year, and model in one lot. The chair is rotatable. H 90 cm, l 62 cm, d 72 cm, hs 30.5 cm. The American company Herman Miller is known internationally for publishing its modernist design furniture from the 1950s. It remains one of the main publishers of American design furniture with Knoll. Founded in Zeeland in 1905, Michigan, the company was then named "Star Furniture Company". She designs popular traditional American furniture. In 1923, DJ De Pree bought the company with his father-in-law, Herman Miller, whose name he gives. In 1945, with George Nelson appointed design director, production shifted towards high-end, quality furniture. She will notably publish the models of Charles and Ray Eames.
