The composition revolves around a plate of 4 green pears resting against a muted coloured backdrop. The artist has used short and expressive e brushstrokes, and through the masterful use of the colour gradient technique employing contrasting shades, the three-dimensional qualities of the fruits are enhanced and the overall composition is full of character.
