Description
Former 1950s perforated metal garden bench by René Malaval. (René Malaval, a welder by trade, came up with the idea of recycling discarded sheet metal plates following the process of drilling for the manufacture of ammunition nerves during the second world war. From 1945, he used these perforated plates to create, at a reduced cost, furniture for urban planning and for mass distribution: benches, garbage cans, chairs and terrace tables.
