Description
Old stoneware carboy, srd hollow marking on the neck (for supply reserve depot), and hollow marking at the bottom of the buchan portobello edinburgh carboy. Used during the 1st then 2nd world war, for the reserves of alcohol (mainly whiskey, but also rum...) for english soldiers. Capacity: 1 imperial gallon (approx. 4.5 liters). Some traces of use and lack of enamelling (see photos), very beautiful bottle! Diameter 17 cm, height 31 cm. D254.
