Description
Magnificent and extremely rare brass fireplace screen, dating from the 19th century (around 1890), by bouhon frères. Until 1898, bouhon frères was a specialist in bronze fireplaces and accessories. Rewarded at the universal exhibition in paris in 1900 by the international jury for their screens and andirons, thomas and joseph bouhon received the gold medal. Their pieces are now rare and highly sought after by collectors! This louis XVI style fireplace screen consists of 4 fully folding flaps. It can be placed in front of the fireplace as quickly as it can be stored! It is stamped "fb" on the back of the fireplace screen. It has been deliberately left in its original condition, with its many marks of use and signs of age that testify to its age and authenticity: the brass will need a little cleaning if you want it to be very shiny. The mesh is original, so it has traces, dirt, marks... It can be restored by a professional or left as is, with its marks from the past! It must have witnessed long evenings by the fire, so it's your turn to make it live some nice memories! Total dimensions: 135 cm long / 59 cm high. Dimensions of the fully folded fire screen: 33 cm long / 59 cm high. Total weight excluding packaging: 2.650 kg. Keep in mind that this is a very old object, it has traces of time and imperfections that make it a unique object with a history! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer you!.
