Description
Large and prestigious oak cabinet dated 1715-1730. This piece of furniture was possibly born in the Liège region. Its style is influenced by French classicism even if the sculptures have characteristics of Liège Baroque... The doors have sculpted panels representing coats of arms. At the time, these had to be painted. The base may not be original. In the 18C, the piece of furniture was intended to serve as a wardrobe. In the mid-20th century, it was fitted with shelves to make it a dresser. This description is based on the opinion of several experts. The piece of furniture is in good general condition even if it has some small defects linked to its great age. The wood needs cleaning and re-waxing. There is no shortage of sculptures. Total height: 225 cm. Width and depth of the cornice: 230 X 78 cm. Width and depth of main body: 198 X 64 cm. The assembly can be dismantled and can be removed in the town of Walcourt (Belgium). Sending also possible according to terms to be agreed.
