Small Table in Lacquered Wood, Louis XV Style – Late 19th Century

This lacquered wood work table has an animated ogee lid mounted on hinges and decorated with a polychrome painting of a gallant afternoon in the gardens of a castle. This cover, allowing access to a small storage space, locks using a functional original lock with plant entry accompanied by its key. The belt is cut and also has painted motifs of scrolls and scrolls. The whole rests on four so-called “whiplash” legs and are covered with scraps of acanthus leaves profiled at the edges in fine bronze moldings ending in small sabots.
