Description
This lacquered wood work table has an animated ogee lid mounted on hinges and decorated with a polychrome painting of a gallant afternoon in the gardens of a castle. This cover, allowing access to a small storage space, locks using a functional original lock with plant entry accompanied by its key. The belt is cut and also has painted motifs of scrolls and scrolls. The whole rests on four so-called “whiplash” legs and are covered with scraps of acanthus leaves profiled at the edges in fine bronze moldings ending in small sabots. For lovers of meticulous work such as sewing for example, this table will be an essential aid for storing small instruments, equipment or other small objects. ******** period: late 19th century excellent condition.
