Midcentury wall lamp | Wim Rietveld | Gispen | model 4050 | Panama lamp | vintage 50's

€1,400

Industrial design from the 1950's. This lamp was created by wim rietfeld, made for gispen. For gispen, this wall lamp is known as model 4050. Its nickname is panama lamp, because of the shape of the lamp shade. This particular lamp is in original condition, with its original red paint on the lamp shade. It also has the original diffuser. A smart design detail is the red key that is used to loosen the bolts for adjusting the lamp. After use, the key can be placed back on its spot, where it is held by the small ring around the on/off switch. The lamp is in good condition, but not perfect. The rim of the lamp shade shows a small dent, and there is a small dimple to be seen on the surface of the lamp shade. Both are clear to see on the pictures that I made of the lamp. Dimensions (adjustable): h X b X d = 60 X 40, 5 X 110 cm (reach from the wall). Diameter of the lamp shade is 40, 5 cm (approx 16"). The lamp is suited for a regular e27 light bulb, 60w max or led. Wiring is sound and good to go for both 110v and 220v grid. Only the plug would have to be changed for some markets, or be used in combination with a country-specific adapter.
