George Nelson's CSS Modular Library by Herman Miller

Rare library edition herman miller by designer george nelson from the 60s. This is an authentic imported american edition (not to be confused with the french version by mobilier international). This ingenious system (css = comprehensive storage system) allows you to place these elements where you want on the metal uprights in order to make a composition adapted to your needs. You can see one possibility here in the photo as an example. This set is composed of a rare office module with a tilting door and a superb arrangement of small interior drawers, a module with a white opaline shelf (and isorel bottom that can be removed according to taste). A set of 14 shelves for display completes this set. The 5 metal uprights are equipped with connectors to be fixed to the wall for perfect support (possibility of shortening the height if necessary). All the elements can be fixed in front at the front or the back uprights according to these needs. This bookcase is a real asset for those who want to combine practical storage with aesthetics. The set is made of wood with rosewood veneer. This is the most sought-after version on the market with black uprights which are very difficult to find. Condition report: I have posted a large number of photos which allow you to get a clear opinion of its condition. This set is in good to very good condition of conservation, no breakage, no missing elements in the frames and the assembly elements are complete. However, this bookcase is not new, it is vintage so it contains slight scratches and surface friction in some places, 2 or 3 defects in the veneer which have been covered up and reduced, these slight defects are the remains of its use, they are shallow, not very visible to the naked eye which gives the furniture its general charm and the beautiful patina of the wood. An iconic designer piece rare on the market.
